Emilien Boudreaux

Engineer. Savant. Wild Card.
The bastard son of a noble family, Emilien discovered his paternal lineage at the age of 12. His mother had refused to tell him in order to protect his father; to shield the man from the shame of having sired a bastard in the Brume. In his shock, Emilien did exactly what his mother knew he would. Three years later, he sought the man out at the Boudreaux estate. Master Boudreaux claimed no knowledge of Emilien despite the same striking blue eyes.Emilien took his father's surname with him back to the slums not out of pride, but for revenge. The nobleman could not ignore his own name growing up in Ishgard's underbelly, even if he could deny the child who bore it.As a youth with fewer than 10 summers, he'd discovered a love for all things mechanical. He took on an apprenticeship at the Skysteel Manufactory at 15, where he stayed until 22. It was then he realized his dream of joining the Garlond Ironworks, where he is currently employed as a journeyman engineer.

Emilien showed an early aptitude with all things mechanical. Tools, weapons, it mattered not what. He would take it apart and put it back together again, often with his own spin on things. If you've got a neat gadget or a set of finely engineered weapons, he'd love to pick your brain about them. He's a bit wild. In addition to putting things together, Emilien also loves to blow them apart. His experimentation borders on dangerous on a good day, nearly suicidal at its worst. He has boundless energy for a man of 30 summers and is known to play pranks and sew chaos whenever the opportunity presents itself. He bores easily. Incredibly clever, Emilien loses interest in things he thinks mundane very quickly and takes it upon himself to create his own amusement. Typically this comes at the expense of whoever is boring him, or happens to be nearby. He has no taste for Ishgardian nobility. Such people are often the target of his tricks and pranks.
